Little Spawner is now measuring 4.4-5.7cm from crown to rump. Right now the size of his/her head is about half the size of his/her body! Okay, we all know Dave has an oversized head, but this right now for Spawner is not influenced by Dave's genes, it's normal at 11 weeks and eventually Spawner's body will catch up (hopefully hehe). Little Spawnie's irises are starting to develop their colour...will they be bright blue like Dave's or hazel like mine?! Little tooth buds are starting to form under the gums and his/her hands are soon going to be able to open and close into fists. The cutest part though, is little Spawner is doing water ballet in there, stretching and kicking. It's too bad I'm still months away from being about to feel anything.
How far along are
you: 11 weeks
Size of baby: Some sites say lime, some sites say fig (I have no idea what a fig looks like) so I'll go with lime.
Movement: Spawner should be moving around in there, but I can't feel anything yet.
Symptoms: Just more tired than usual, peeing a lot more than usual, and shortness of breath.
Total weight gain: 4lbs still...I have a feeling not for long though, but that's okay. They say up to 5 lbs in the first trimester is normal.
Sleep: Sleep has took a nasty turn on me this week. It goes like this: I get tired at like 7pm. I head to bed at 8pm. I lay in bed from 8 until about 9 watching TV and feeling soooo happy that I'm in bed. I go to sleep around 9. I wake up around 3:30am and I either have to pee, which I get up and do and go back to bed, or I don't have to pee and I wonder and worry why I don't have to pee. Either way, I lay in bed and can't sleep. Sometimes for as long as an hour. I'm always waking up wide awake in those last few hours before my alarm goes off. I am not impressed. I feel super uncomfortable in bed at that point. I think it's time I invest in a full-body boppy pillow and a humidifier for my dry/stuffy pregnancy nose.
Food adversions: No specific food anymore. I'm eating pizza again, although it's not my favourite thought.
Cravings: They come and go. I have no specific craving right now.
Emotions: This week I've been happy and excited and more positive as I go.
What do you miss: Coffee fraps from Starbucks. Boy oh boy do I miss those. I will be treating myself to one after the first tri is over!
Maternity clothes: Not yet, but I have put away two pairs of jeans. I'm getting thicker around the waist. My bloat sticks out over my pants when I sit down which makes me want to undo my pants...I'm assuming this is the first step. ;)
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Boy or girl: Who knows?!
Next appt: Next Monday - midwife appointment.
Best moment(s) this past week: Friday I had the day off. I laid in bed with my puppy and watching the craziness unfold as Boston was on lockdown because they were looking for the Boston marathon terrorist. It was so comfortable and relaxing to just lay in bed all day with the window open and it was raining outside. Perfection.
What are you looking forward to this week: Friday just to be done work and my midwife appointment on Monday because they might try to find the heartbeat with the doppler.
