Little baby Spawner is about to go through a growth spurt! In the next few weeks he/she will double in weight. Right now he is about 12cm from head to bum and weighs about 100 grams. All of his facial features are now very close to their final destination as the eyes are closer to the front of his head and his ears are almost in their final position, too. Also, baby Spawn is peeing about every 45 minutes in there!
How far along are you: 16 weeks!!
Size of baby: avacado
Movement: Still can't feel a thing. My midwife said my placenta is anterior (meaning it is at the front of my belly), so I probably won't feel movement until much later. Lunchbox letdown.
Symptoms: Not much. Just a little more sleepy than usual, but nothing too bad.
Total weight gain: 5 lbs on a good day.
Sleep: Sleep is okay. Just okay. Even with my Snoogle.
Food aversions: Nothing really. I will eat anything I normally would without a real issue, but I'm still a little turned off of pizza at the first thought of it. But if it was sitting in front of me, I'd have no problem eating at least half of it. ;)
Cravings: Still only things like fries, gravy and malt vinegar, which is not too unusual for me.
Emotions: Happy & anxious. Anxious because I just want to know baby is doing well in there at all times. I wish I could ASK him/her, "hey, how's it going? how are you feeling today? is there anything I can do?" But since I can't, I just sit here with my mommy-to-be anxiety.
What do you miss: Um, usually this is where I'd say I miss my coffee frappuccinos from Starbucks, but guess what?! This girl went there and got a DECAF one! I am human again!!! You have no idea how happy that made me. I talked to Dave about how happy I was to have my frap for DAYS and DAYS afterward. So, now what I miss is sushi. Not the sushi I'm eating now (veggie rolls), but good ol' raw fish sushi!!!
Maternity clothes: Yes! Even rocking some shirts now. I am one comfy biotch.
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Boy or girl: Who knows!! Still think boy though.
Next appt: June 24 is the anatomy ultrasound!! WOOOHOO!!
Best moment(s) this past week: Hm...midwife appointment, I think. I heard little Spawner's heartbeat, just pounding away and we heard him boot the doppler. The midwife said he's an active little babe.
